we are having a mother/daughter garden party/fashion show. Any idea how to combine these 2 things?
The girls are between the ages of 8 and 11. Ideas for garden party decorations would be great and ideas one how to tie these two ideas together would be fabulous. Thank you!
How about a tea? Mother’s and daughters can dress up, wear spectacular hats and enjoy a fashion show while sipping their favorite tea and eating snacks! Decide how many tables you are going to need and how many people will be at each table. Coordinate linens and centerpieces of fresh flowers for each table and be sure to have place cards for each guest. Bring out the china and beautiful tablewear. Each table should have gorgeous tea cups and saucers, as well as teapots available. Have your tables set up around a walkway so that models can walk between the tables modeling favorite fashions. Stores such as Sears, Penneys, Ross etc. might be willing to donate clothes and models for advertising. If not, then each mother, daughter combo should be invited to model clothing for different occasions: everything from sports to evening wear. Plan on having wonderful background music and great food. Mini croissants filled with chicken salad, open faced turkey on baguettes, mini lemon tarts, brownie bites, pecan pie squares, shrimp salad in endive leaves, petit fours etc. are all good ideas.

Ask the mothers and daughters to dress up as a team (like same fabric, style or same colour and etc)
Prepare a runway in the garden, let the mothers and daughters walk the runway. Prepare a big box let all people vote.While they wait you can go on with you real fashion show.
Give them paper tiara and $50 Supermarket or dinner voucher for the first price.
Lots of drinks and food.

I don’t like the voting idea. No one wants to be a loser in the fashion department.
Make up fruit and vegetable trays, and think Martha Stewart to decorate the tables. White table cloths, china and silverware. Use live flowers everywhere. It would be nice if you used some milk glass serving dishes, if you can get hold of them, and crystal candlesticks and a mini flower bouquet on each table.
